Garden Treasures

Poinsettias fundraisers are a great way to earn cash for your school or organization. The basics on how our fundraiser works; Garden Treasures supplies the poinsettias & you sell them by taking orders & collecting the money. Most groups sell them at a price approximately $5-$10 above cost depending on plant size to earn adequate profit. We will deliver them to you in pot covers, sleeved for weather, & boxed by size & color, at a pre-determined date.

Only top quality poinsettias are supplied by Garden Treasures – better than florist-sold plants. These plants, classical symbols of the holiday season for most Americans, are superior because they are grown in local greenhouses- and because they come to you directly from the greenhouses - no middleman, no stressful freight trip, no store shelf to sit on for weeks. We guarantee they will be healthy when you receive them.  These plants are the same varieties we sell to our retail customers & will last for months with proper care.

Care is required. Poinsettias are sensitive to heat & cold & subject to breakage if not handled correctly. All plants must be covered for delivery & displayed in areas free from drafts & with plenty of bright light. Direct sunlight is not necessary. Water them sparingly – moist, not soggy soil - & no “wet feet.”

The method we use for this fundraiser is to have your organization read this information page & contacts us if you wish to make inquiries or have decided to participate in our fundraiser. You will need to decide:

• What pot sizes you wish to sell (6.5” &/or  8”)

• What colors you wish to sell (white, red, burgundy, pink, marble star)

• When do you want to have your plants delivered (this is usually the same day as, or the day before your purchasers will pick them up from you. DO NOT hold for more than 2 days.  Delivery dates are subject to plant availability.

• Where they will be delivered (and on your end: who will receive them, sort them, etc.)

• If you want help from us in creating an order form, also please have in mind the prices you wish to sell the poinsettias for when contacting us.

We would like all fundraisers to be set up with us by late September, early October.  Final numbers need to be in by the 1^st week of November. All orders are subject to availability & we reserve the right to make substitutions as necessary – especially for late orders or if there is a crop failure. You will be notified of & given choices for substitutions. No changes in orders will be allowed within 2 days of delivery. No refunds or exchanges will be allowed after delivery unless quantities or color errors have occurred on our part or plants have been damaged during delivery. (Rare!)

Colors this year are red, white, burgundy, pink, & marble star.

Prices are based on pot size & number of flowers/plants in each pot, not on the colors. Prices include pot covers & delivery. These are your purchase prices – you are free to determine your groups selling prices based on what you need your margins to be.

• 6.5”    $6.25 (example: you sell for $9.99)
• 8”       $12.50 (example: you sell for $19.99)

Minimum orders: $300.00

*Due to the nature of poinsettias, our fundraiser is limited to Western, IA & Eastern, NE.
